Good morning, and happy Sunday to you!
What’s new in my world? I've embarked on a journey to elevate the visual allure of my Instagram. I've decided to (finally) delve into the art of creating reels! A realm I've lightly explored before but never fully embraced. Lately, however, something has shifted. I’m finding happiness in creating a new style of content - styling backgrounds, refining edits, carefully selecting tracks to complement each recipe or video.
And if you know me well, you’ll know of my penchant for making an effort to dress nicely each day (even when it’s just me at home.). Putting on something lovely to wear just makes me feel better! This daily practice may also grace my reels, or 'fit checks'—as I believe they are called—for your inspiration. I invite you to join me in this new venture here!
Here’s a handful of notes and nice things to click on…
If you’re a lover of beautiful and elegant homes, then you’ll love the home tours on Vogue Living. Sometimes, I just have the YouTube channel playing in the background to inspire me as I chip away at work. Cordelia de Castellane's garden above featured on House and Garden is also particularly extraordinary (thanks Chloe!) and the home tours on Architectural digest can be fun to watch, too.
Im obsessed with wearing bright red at the moment, and have been coveting these gorgeous Italian made clogs from Garden Objects. I imagine they would last for years, and as a lady of average stature, the extra height in the heel would be welcomed!
There’s something deeply comforting about stepping into a home that smells wonderful. Just like the way you carefully choose to style your home, I believe the way your home smells can also be a means to communicate your own personal style and evoke powerful emotions. If you’re nodding your head in agreement or wish to have a more beautiful smelling space, check out my tips here.
Delicious things I’ve been eating lots of recently…
Soup and rēwena sourdough most days for lunch. Each Monday I make up a big batch of something different, sometimes freezing smaller portions for later.
Boiled eggs with a big slab of butter and a sprinkle of sea salt with each spoonful. I’ve been eating eggs this way for most of my pregnancy so far - it’s very nostalgic for me!
Winter fruit puddings. Mostly made with a base of almond meal and served with super-thick greek yoghurt, pouring cream or custard. You can expect a new recipe of this kind early this week.
Delectable plates of cheese, olives, artichokes, rustic bread, locally smoked salmon, anchovies or sardines, and herb-infused butter or a creamy dip of sorts. It feels fancy, yet only takes a few minutes to arrange prettily on a plate. Amazing date-night-at-home food, in my opinion.
Totally crushing on simple spaghetti dishes - velvety tomato/lentil/garlic sauce with parmesan, or a lemony butter type situation with prawns, toasted breadcrumbs and lots of fresh herbs.
