How I created a beautiful relationship with food

I often get asked about my thoughts on healthy eating, and how this looks for my family on a daily basis. I believe eating should be joyful, and as soon as too many rules, pressure or 'diets' come into place, we can so often lose track of that joy!

This is why in most cases, going on a diet never seems to be a sustainable, long-term option. Most diets are based on rigidity, deprivation, guilt and fear. Furthermore, they can often disconnect us from our natural body signals and intuition.

Personally, I have learnt the hard way, as through my teenage years, and into my early twenties, I suffered from disordered  and obsessive eating. It's something I've hardly spoken about online, as for years, I felt much shame around the habits I had back then. It wasn't until I discovered my love for cooking, at the age of 23, that I started to see things differently. I began to understand the mind, body, and soul connection with food, and what a beautiful thing this could be (and for those wondering, I’m now 35!).

I learnt that eating from a gentler, more loving place allows us to treat ourselves with kindness and compassion. And this love is what helps us to discover a whole new mindset when it comes to enjoying food.

Below, I’m sharing small, yet simple shifts that might cultivate a fresh way of thinking. I hope that you will feel encouraged at how your relationship with food starts to change and that you start to reconnect more with what your body is telling you?

I believe we all deserve to eat joyfully. Let me share what helped me along the way!
