One of things I was most excited about when moving into our new home in Raglan, was setting up my sparkly new Linea Micra and matching grinder from La Marzocco. Talk about my dream coffee machine! I don’t have much bench space, so it’s petite size works perfectly on my bench top. I love its elegant, stainless steel look, although it comes in many fab colours, too.
Extra-special homemade coffee deserves an extra special homemade breakfast to go with it! Here’s a recipe I dreamed up recently, and I hope you can enjoy it with your morning coffee, too!
Cinnamon dutch baby cooked in toasty brown butter
Ingredients:
3 large eggs, at room temperature
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup milk of your choice
1 tbsp sugar of your choice
1 tsp cinnamon
50g butter
Method:
Preheat your oven to 220 °C.
Add the eggs, flour, milk, sugar and cinnamon to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Place an oven-proof skillet over medium heat, then once hot, add the butter and swirl to coat the pan. It will become browned and fragrant reasonably quickly. Pour in the batter, then place into your pre-heated oven.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until puffed up and golden. Remove from the oven (being careful as it will be hot!) and serve at once topped with your choice of fresh or cooked fruit, icing sugar, whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Serves 2.
