The secret to creating incredibly crunchy homemade granola clusters? Add a lightly whisked egg white to your mix!
If you’re like me, and sneakily sort through the bag of granola to find the biggest, most decadent looking clusters, then this crazy-delicious chocolate, cranberry and maple granola cluster recipe is absolutely for you.
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups wholegrain oats
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup melted butter or coconut oil
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 egg white, whisked
1 tsp sea salt
Method:
Preheat your oven to 200 C, and line a tray with baking paper.
Add all ingredients to a bowl, and toss to combine. Tip onto the prepared baking tray, and spread out into an even layer. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly crisp. Watch carefully towards the end as it can burn easily.
Allow to cool completely (it will harden as it cools) then break into chunks. Lastly, mix through your additional add-ins - dried fruit, nuts etc. I used 1 cup cranberries and 1/2 cup sliced almonds.
Store in a large jar.
